Giant sparklers

Our 27 inch giant sparklers burn for up to three minutes - approximately three times longer than an 18 inch sparkler and six times longer than a standard 10 inch. That extended burn time is what makes them suited to large events where chain-lighting a long line of guests takes time, or where a photographer needs to work across multiple positions before the sparklers go out. For events with over 120 guests, giant sparklers remove the time pressure that 18 inch sparklers can create.

It depends on your guest count and the venue setup. 18 inch sparklers are sufficient for most weddings up to around 120 guests where the exit is well-organised and guests are briefed on chain-lighting beforehand. Giant sparklers are the better choice for larger weddings, long venue walks, outdoor processions or any situation where a three-minute burn time gives you genuine peace of mind. If you are at all concerned about time, choose giant - the extra cost is small and the extra burn time removes the most common sparkler moment failure.

Buy one per guest plus 10 to 15 percent extra for any that fail to light or get dropped. For 100 guests, buy at least 115. For 150 guests, buy at least 170. Giant sparklers are popular across a wide range of occasions. Large weddings where burn time is critical to get the whole exit right. Torchlit processions at Guy Fawkes events, bonfire nights and village walks where guests walk a route while holding. Diwali and New Year celebrations where group sparkler moments are central to the occasion. Corporate events and fundraisers where sparklers are sold as an activity. The three-minute burn time makes them practical for almost any outdoor group sparkler moment.

Sparklers of any size require careful adult supervision with children. Children under 5 should not handle sparklers at all. For older children using giant sparklers, the longer length means the burning end is further from the hand, which is a safety advantage - but the longer burn time means the wire stays hot for longer after burning out. Always supervise children directly, ensure they hold the sparkler at arm's length, and place spent wires in a bucket of water immediately. Never hand a burning sparkler to a child - light it while they are holding it at a safe distance.
