It means the firework uses the same effect types and chemical compositions found in professional display fireworks - peonies, willows, brocade crowns, tourbillions and titanium breaks - but in a product that is completely legal for consumers to buy without a licence. The "pro" refers to the visual quality of the effect in the sky, not the legal classification of the product. Pro Effect products are Category 2 consumer fireworks that happen to use professional-grade shell compositions and large bore tubes to produce effects that look genuinely impressive.

The 1.3G range refers to the UN transport classification of the product - a technical storage and shipping designation that broadly correlates with more powerful fireworks. The Pro Effect range is our curated selection of products specifically chosen for the quality of their visual effects, regardless of technical classification. Some Pro Effect products are 1.3G classified; some are not. What they share is professional-grade effect composition, large bore tubes and the kind of single-effect purity that makes each product genuinely distinctive in the sky.

Because purity of effect is what makes professional display fireworks look the way they do. When a professional operator wants a willow section, they fire a barrage of willow cakes - not a cake that mixes willows with peonies and crackling stars. Single effect products allow you to control the visual character of each section of your display deliberately, building sequences and contrast between pieces. Two Pro Effect cakes of different character fired back to back creates a professional-feeling transition that mixed-effect cakes simply cannot.

Most Pro Effect barrages carry a 15 metre safety distance - check the label on each specific product before buying. Many average-sized gardens meet this requirement. These products are loud by design though, with noise ratings of 9 out of 10 across most of the range. If noise is a concern, the Pro Effect range is not the right choice - browse our low noise fireworks instead. If you have the space and noise is not an issue, a Pro Effect barrage in a garden display will genuinely impress your audience.

Choose products with contrasting effect characters and alternate between them. A willow barrage followed by a spinner barrage followed by a peony barrage gives three completely different visual moments in the sky.
